Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the CVFL Judges Portal (the “Portal”), operated by MaD Development, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Portal, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Portal.

1. What the Portal is

The Portal is a free tool that helps a speech & debate program organize judges: collecting a judging survey, coordinating tournament sign-ups, tracking judging service, and communicating with judges by email. We may add, change, or discontinue features at any time.

2. Eligibility & accounts

The Portal is intended for adults serving as judges, and for program coaches/administrators. Sign-in uses a one-time link sent to your email — there is no password. Keep your sign-in link private; anyone with your link can access your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to provide accurate information and to use the Portal only for its intended purpose. You agree not to: access accounts or data that are not yours; interfere with or disrupt the Portal; attempt to probe, scan, or bypass its security; scrape or harvest data; or use the Portal to send spam or unlawful content.

4. Your content

You are responsible for the information you enter, including student names and messages. By entering a student’s name, you confirm you are that student’s parent, guardian, or an adult authorized to act as their designated judge. You grant us permission to use the information you provide solely to operate the Portal as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Donations

Donations made through the Portal are voluntary and are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. Donations support the speech & debate program and are collected through the Woodcreek High School Timberwolf Boosters, a nonprofit organization (Tax ID/EIN 94-3239441); they are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. MaD Development, LLC does not take a portion of donations. If you believe a donation was made in error, contact us and we will help.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The Portal is provided free of charge, “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Portal will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any tournament staffing outcome will be achieved.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MaD Development, LLC and its members will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of the Portal. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Portal will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100), which you agree is a fair allocation of risk for a free service.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MaD Development, LLC from any claims or expenses arising out of your misuse of the Portal or your violation of these Terms.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Portal after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to the Portal will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California.
